Today was our class barbeque! I had waited very long for this day after our form teacher, Mr Su, told us that we would be organising a class outing on the first day of school. On friday night, the day before the barbeque, I could not sleep because I was too excited. I kept thinking n what we would be doing and how fun it was going to be.
This afternoon, at around 2.30pm, a few of us went to the Subway at Parkway to have lunch. It was quite fun because while we were eating, we talked about anything that came to mind and we cracked many jokes. We went straight to school after that. We reached school at 3.40pm, and was not surprised to see only 2 of our classmates in school. After all, the arranged time was for us to meet at 4pm.
As most of our classmates were still not in school, about 10 of us started playing soccer in the field. Our form teacher soon reached and even joined us in playing soccer. We played for about half an hour before we needed to vacate the field because outsiders had already booked the field. We reluctantly left and went to the Indoor Sports Hall to play. This was when all the fun begin!
We splitted up into teams of 5 and played floorball. Almost everybody played, incuding our teacher. I was the goalkeeper for our team. Using my size to my advantage, I could block most of the balls that were shot at me. I was very happy because I only conceded 4 goals in the whole day. However, it was a team effort that prevented the opponents from scoring. I also found out another thing. My form teacher was very good at playing floorball!
Then, it was barbeque time. We had difficulty starting the fire at first. However, Mr Su then managed to get the fire going and we were still in high spirits. Soon, night had fall and we were almost done with the barbeque. We were all quite sad because everybody had fun at the barbeque.
The purpose was to bond our class and I thought that it worked very well because after this outing, we are definitely closer to each other.
